New traffic control is unnecessary
N/A
Dec. 6, 2010 3:27 pm
With the recent construction of the East Post Road bridge, it was necessary to install traffic control devices to handle the detour traffic - stop signs at East Post Road and Cottage Grove Avenue SE and stoplights at Cottage Grove and 34th Street SE. Since the bridge is open and the detours are gone, these installations no longer serve a purpose. They are a nuisance and disrupt the flow of traffic.
I would like to see them taken out immediately. If it is impractical to remove the stoplights, set them to flashing red on 34th Street and flashing yellow on Cottage Grove.
