I am supporting Jen Neumann's re-election campaign for Cedar Rapids school board. As a business owner and a parent of recent CRCSD graduates, Jen brings a unique perspective to the board, one deeply rooted in the community she serves.
Jen's unwavering commitment to supporting teachers ties directly to the outcomes we all want for our kids. She understands that by providing teachers with the resources and support they need, we can ensure those outcomes are achieved for all students. She is a strong advocate for public schools, local control, and building and maintaining safe and secure environments for students. She voted to maintain School Resource Officer contracts with CRPD and will advocate for continued investment in safety.
Her forward-thinking approach to education ensures our schools remain adaptable and responsive to the changing needs of our community. She recognizes that with kids, one size does not fit all, and that local decision-making is essential in tailoring education to the unique needs of our students.
Jen's stance against banning books and other restrictive policies is also reassuring. Education should be about expanding horizons. By standing up for these values, Jen ensures our schools remain inclusive spaces where all students can learn and grow.
On November 7, I encourage voters in the district (including Palo and parts of Hiawatha and Robins) to support Jen Neumann's re-election to the school board. Her record, experience, and vision for the future make her an excellent choice to continue serving our community.
