Negative political advertising is a waste of money

Can you imagine having such great wealth that you can play and do real money political Monopoly? The reality is that this is exactly what is happening. It is an equal opportunity for the deep pockets or organizations and individuals in both parties to participate with little regard for the consequences. A tsunami of negative ads is headed this way, and character assassination is the norm.
As a country, we profess to care about the cultural influences on our children. The toxic media mixture of these political strategies is seldom or never mentioned. What effect does negative advertising have on young children? Think of the many positive ways this money could be spent.
I am just one individual, but to ignore and accept what is happening is cowardly. What can be done? Write a letter to the editor. Turn off the TV. Volunteer for a non-profit organization. Do something positive for someone in need. Find a way to demonstrate your deeply felt concerns.
