Negative campaign ads could backfire

When Democrat Bruce Braley was running ads during the Republican senatorial primary race his ads were about himself, his humble childhood, all his part-time jobs and his law school education. But now that he has a Republican opponent his ads are quite different. None of them are positive about Braley, but negative mud slinging ads against Jodi Ernst.
I hope his strategy of bashing, smashing and trashing Joni Ernst backfires big-time.
