Nature is not fooled over ‘sex’ or ‘gender’

The Gazette offers audio versions of articles using Instaread. Some words may be mispronounced.
The premise of a recent Gazette editorial is that there is lower social acceptance for transgender people than for the rest of the LGBTQ+ community. I can believe that. The article goes on to say that it is in step with the rise of state laws that regulate which bathrooms transgender people can use and which sports they can play. I don’t believe that.
The article chastises Trump for calling for the recognition of people based on their female (XX) or male (XY) chromosomes. In typical liberal fashion, the article stated that there is “scientific evidence” that gender is a spectrum. The writer believes that changing the narrative from biological “sex” to “gender” strengthens their argument. It does not.
For me, bathroom restrictions are a lesser issue. I assume that there are no urinals in women’s restrooms, making privacy inherent through the use of private stalls. Sports locker rooms, however, are a different situation where male body parts can be on full display. You can call yourself whatever you want, but you can’t fool mother nature.
Restrictions on biological males participating in female sports is the bigger issue. It is about fairness to biological females who have a legal right via Title IX to participate in their own sport, against those of the same sex. It may come down to today’s young females simply refusing to participate against biological males. They may need to stand up for themselves - biased administrators with an agenda instead of a backbone will not.
