Nation's future is in peril
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Aug. 10, 2011 2:10 pm
Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats and President Obama have acted arrogantly and put our nation in great peril by stubbornly refusing to act on the House cut, cap and balance bill sent to the Senate several weeks ago.
The U.S. House responsibly crafted a bill that would have set up our government on a path to stabilize and solve the great economic spending and debt problem that have put America on a path toward disaster.
The majority of Americans voted in the last election to put conservative, capable representatives in the U.S. House. They represented the majority that passed cut, cap and balance legislation. For the Senate Democratic leadership to declare “it is dead on arrival” and “table” that legislation without even a debate or vote is in direct opposition to fair and open government by the people.
Let your representatives and senators know we can no longer tolerate flagrant and arrogant disregard for our nation's future.
