National anthem deserves respect

In the past six years, I have witnessed some very disturbing behavior by some girls' athletic teams. Eight times I have seen high school volleyball teams swinging their arms during our national anthem. I have called the girls' athletic union and they send out memos forbidding such behavior. I also have called the athletic directors at the individual schools. Still some teams do this. Recently, I saw the Des Moines North and the Des Moines East girls basketball teams do this.
As a U.S. citizen, I feel this is disrespectful. It is also unnecessary and is not the least bit helpful. Please be sure that your school, your coaches and your players do not do this.
