To the editor:
After 60 years, this writer dropped the Republican party due to its frail conservative posture. A prime display being its adverse attitude toward that anti-Washington group of proud Americans who call themselves the Tea Party. This patriotic group espouses the philosophy of the founders of our republic. Our nation is no longer a shining light of the planet because Washington politicians represent special interests that feed their greed and egos at the expense of citizen constituency.
The regulation-crazy Democratic Party has exposed its corrupt shenanigans by promulgating such damaging schemes as the housing bubble, the massive federal debt, the expanding welfare system, the damaging Environmental Protection Agency, etc.
When considering the dreadful state of our nation one must also indict the citizens who voted for a president who has no fundamental understanding of what it is to be an American. His agenda advocates the transformation of our nation. He and his party obviously lack any real love for what this nation has always represented - liberty for every citizen - a government by the people.
Our president has been accused of lying to the American people. This writer suggests that he did not lie. It was those who put the words in his teleprompter who are the liars. Therein lies the true danger facing our nation, a shadow government that controls both political parties and manipulates our president in the process of destroying what was once the greatest nation on the planet.
A corrupt election system further abets the decline.
