‘My president’ has created a swamp culture

Recently, pro-President Donald Trump ads on TV touted his good deeds. People in the ad asserted proudly that he is ‘my president'.

Yes, he is my president too. My president has given a lot of his appointees and aides the message 'it's my way or the highway” when running this country. Result? My president is surrounded by a lot of 'yes-men (and women),” fearful of being booted out if they don't support his version of reality.

It reminds me of the folk tale 'The Emperor's New Clothes,” where his advisers praise his new 'clothing” even though he is actually wearing nothing.

So we get all these policies that waste my money, raise my food prices, pull the rug out from under those in the military, dirty the grandkids' earth, water, and air, and generally value money over just about everything else, including common sense, the teachings of Jesus, science, education, a free press, rights of individuals, you name it.

And now we have the abuse-of-power and cover-up about the Ukraine matter caught in the spotlight. What a swamp culture my president has created!

Our Constitution has the answer for my president's actions. It ain't pretty. But it protects our republic from those who would be king, dictator, or bully strongman. Like my president.
