Murphy represents the working class

Pat Murphy has been a strong voice in the Iowa Legislature for issues that concern me, and his experience allows him to speak with confidence. He inspires confidence because he is an expert on many issues.
He will continue to work hard and represent working people when he is in Congress. There are many examples of his loyalty to working people. One example is that health coverage was expanded for nearly 40,000 children with Hawk-i when he was speaker of the Iowa House.
He opposes the privatization of Social Security and will work to make sure seniors get the benefits they have worked for. He will fight to preserve the security of Medicare. He will support efforts to expand preventive care such as mammograms and ovarian cancer screenings.
The environment is my biggest concern. A strong opponent of the Keystone Pipeline and a firm advocate of conservation practices, he will vote to protect the environment and to help curb global warming.
As speaker of the Iowa House, he promoted universal preschool for 4-year-olds, kept costs down for colleges and raised teacher pay in Iowa to the national average.
Join me in voting for Murphy in the Democratic primary for 1st District on June 3.
