Move county building to more central location

Your guest columnists nailed it Sunday in questioning the location and feasibility of remodeling the water-soaked administrative office building. I offer my two cents worth.
Years ago the location was in Marion, which is closer to the middle of Linn County. I believe that is where all Iowa county seats were intended to be and where I propose Linn relocate.
My research turned up the former Econofoods building on 51st Street NE, which is vacant, has much parking, nearer the county's center, and I believe larger than presently needed. This building is more accessible than the First Street SW location.
My second suggestion would be along Highway 100 near the Menards location. Talk about accessible, and closer to middle Linn County.
If you can't possibly bring yourself to move, then build sensibly. In the flood plane, everything should be elevated on stilts with parking only on ground level. An existing build such as the administrative building may be a candidate for demolition.
