More than a handful voted for the casino

To the editor:

I refer to the March 25 letter from Glen Walters in reference to Rick Struve's editorial cartoon in regard to the mayor working on a casino in Cedar Rapids.

His remark that 'only a handful” want either the casino or his determination to get the casino is in error. Residents of Linn County voted in favor of a casino so it isn't just a handful.

I am in favor of the casino and don't feel that a panel of four biased people, who have a casino in their backyard, should be allowed to dictate to the residents of Linn County as to what we should or should not have.

As far as seeking 'other jobs,” let the casino come and you will see other jobs, not only casino jobs, but other companies will look at this area because of the selections of various attractions there are in our area.

Get with it people, we want a casino here.
