More help for those who are unemployed

Regarding the suggestion in the Jan. 26 “On Your Mind” about community help groups for those many unemployed, of which I am unfortunately am one.
There are many support groups in our community. Dialing 211 can lead to many community groups for treatment of depression, help with health and dental issues, food banks and rental assistance.
Additionally, the Westdale Branch of the Cedar Rapids Public Library offers free computer classes, including one for Internet research.
Also, Kirkwood Community College Career Services offers free job search workshops to anyone in the community, plus resume help and individual career counseling. Along with that, the Iowa Work Force Development offers help with resumes and job searching.
I also suggest that if anyone knows someone who is unemployed or depressed, give them a phone call just to say hello and make them still connected to the world.
