More dollars for public schools would do no better than previous increases

A recent letter to the editor states “Imagine what our public schools would look like if legislators would invest $142 million of our taxpayer dollars into them.”
There is no imagining to do. They would like they do today as they had the $142 million last year and the year before and the year before.
School choice and vouchers came about because of the poor quality of education in many, not all public schools. It might be time for those against vouchers and school choice to admit that if public schools “all” did a better job, vouchers wouldn’t have happened.
