For over 40 years, Dale Monroe’s leadership and engagement in the full range of Marion’s civic affairs have informed his understanding of our community’s practical needs. Now, as Marion is implementing transformational, citywide change, Dale’s business, financial, educational, and organizational expertise would be an invaluable resource to the Marion City Council.
I first came to know Dale in his role on the Marion Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in the 1990s, when he was instrumental in the development of the Marion Arts Festival.
Throughout the festival’s early years, he listened to a variety of opinions, offered evenhanded advice, and always provided a calming voice. But, perhaps most importantly, Dale facilitated the hiring of the exceptional people who went on to build the festival.
Since its formative years, the festival has grown exponentially through the talents and hard work of several individuals. And, I firmly believe that Dale’s contribution was pivotal to the overall success that the festival enjoys to this day.
During the 30 years that I have known him, I have always appreciated Dale’s congenial, straightforward and professional manner.
On Nov. 2, I encourage you to vote for Dale Monroe for Marion’s City Council!
