Miller-Meeks wavers on Social Security handling

Mariannette Miller-Meeks has flip-flopped her position on Social Security privatization, and the Iowa press corps has failed to call her out.
All along Miller-Meeks, 2nd District congressional candidate, has said she would privatize the successful and well-run government program. Project Vote Smart quotes her: “A personal account would prevent government sources from accessing that small portion, and therefore, it could grow substantially over time through compounded interest.”
Personal accounts would bankrupt seniors. It's no secret that Wall Street would love to get their hands on Social Security so they could charge exorbitant fees to unwitting investors.
Also, the Republican plan for privatization would not give lifetime benefits - what you deposit while you work is all you get.
But according to a recent Gazette article, she said: “I'm not for privatization given that this year we know that Social Security is paying out more in benefits than it's taking in.”
The shifting position of Miller-Meeks on Social Security indicates that she is not well-informed about the pain she would inflict on recipients if Republicans were to privatize it. She is an unreliable vote to protect Social Security for senior citizens, disabled folks and aging baby boomers.
Congressman Dave Loebsack is a guaranteed vote to protect our Social Security benefits.
