Miller-Meeks’ votes don’t pass the smell test

Thanks to The Gazette for the March 20 article about the Department of Veterans Affairs expanding eligibility for those exposed to toxins and other hazards, including burn pits. And thanks to the VA for eliminating the phased-in approach through 2032 for enrollment.
But no thanks to Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks who gave a speech on the House floor in 2022 claiming the PACT Act (Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics) was too expensive before she voted against it. She repeatedly says she is fighting for veterans every day. For a Vietnam veteran with a chronic lung condition, the differences between her words and her votes don’t pass the smell test. They’re breathtaking.
