As an Iowan, I believe Medicaid is a lifeline — providing critical health care to our seniors, children, veterans, people with disabilities, and working families who are just trying to get by. Over 800,000 Iowans rely on Medicaid, including many in rural areas where access to health care is already limited.
Right now, that coverage is under threat. Federal proposals to cut or cap Medicaid funding would put lives at risk and burden our already strained health care system. We need our elected leaders to stand up and protect the health and dignity of the people they represent.
Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, as both a physician and our congressional representative, is uniquely positioned to make a difference. She knows firsthand what happens when people can’t afford care. I urge her to stand with Iowans and oppose any efforts to slash Medicaid or restrict access.
Instead, let’s work together to strengthen Medicaid so it continues to support those who need it most — our neighbors, our parents, our kids. Health care isn’t a partisan issue; it’s a human one.
Rep. Miller-Meeks, please use your voice and your vote to protect Medicaid in Iowa. We’re counting on you.
