As a taxpayer, I expect our money to be used responsibly. That means Congress must pass legislation aimed at cutting fraud, waste and abuse — not rewarding it. Much of it has been identified by DOGE auditing, and legislation should be enacted where necessary to permanently address those issues. Further, legislation must ensure that those who come to this country respect due process rather than ignoring it or circumventing it from the start.
I encourage everyone to reject news sources that thrive on fearmongering or push Trump/Republican “Derangement Syndrome” and instead trust sources reporting on the actual news and so-called “conspiracy theories” that have consistently proven to be real facts supported by evidence.
When you cut through the noise pushed by some news and social media outlets, it’s clear what Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks and our Republican delegation in Washington, DC voted for: reducing wasteful and absurd spending, making tax cuts permanent, closing fraudulent loopholes in Medicaid, and strengthening protections at our borders — measures Democrats have opposed.
I thank them for standing firm and voting in line with the real preferences of Iowans.
