Mill-Meeks interview avoided tough questions

I watched the Iowa Press interview (Dec. 17 on Iowa PBS) of Republican Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks. It was so bad I wouldn’t have been surprised if the hosts brought her a cup of hot chocolate and slippers.
During the interview, Miller-Meeks said she is working on lowering prescription drug prices despite her recent (false) statement that lowering prices will interfere with the doctor-patient relationship. Did she switch positions for TV? What are we to believe and why didn’t the Iowa Press hosts catch that?
The reason, seniors especially, split pills and skip medications is because drug prices are too high. Big Pharma sets the prices. Letting her off the hook on this issue in a district that includes Iowa’s only major medical center, and to think she was on the medical faculty as well, is unconscionable.
Why wasn’t she questioned on her deplorable voting record? Miller-Meeks has done little to help constituents especially during the pandemic. As far as I’m concerned, her reason for voting against infrastructure is smoke and mirrors. Her priority should be constituents, not GOP politics.
If Iowa Press can’t produce a top-notch show that holds our representatives accountable, then Iowa PBS should cancel the show.
