Merchants had no control of daughter breaking the law

John Johnson wrote a letter (“I-380 speeding tickets hurting C.R. merchants,” Jan. 5) about his daughter receiving a speeding ticket on Interstate 380.
At that point he made a deal with her not to shop in our fair city, but to go to Coralville to shop.
Our merchants had no control of his daughter breaking the law. He should have told her that the law is the law and not to go to Coralville and break it again.
She is probably a very nice young lady and just made a little mistake. Things will work out fine.
