Medicare in trouble without changes

Regarding Dick Roggensack's Oct. 18 letter “Health care law increases costs”:
It is apparent that he does not understand that the changes to Medicare Part C were made to save Medicare expenses paid to private insurers. If Congress does not make adjustments, Medicare will run into trouble within 10 years.
Humana made a business decision to drop his particular policy. Administrative costs for Medicare are 5 percent. The 2010 Affordable Care Act mandated that private insurance companies can spend 15-20 percent for administrative costs so that policy holders receive 80-85 percent in medical benefits.
Seniors who pay for Medicare Advantage policies need to take a look at their policy and decide to keep it or sign up for regular Medicare.
