Medicare costs, among others, have skyrocketed under Biden and Harris

A recent letter to the editor (Aug 22, “Miller-Meeks should stick to her knitting) claimed a “gotcha” on Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks’s email explaining to her constituents why Democrat deceptive practices are behind the increases in their premiums for Medicare, and Medicare Part D, which covers prescriptions.
The author declared his individual experience refutes the facts. It doesn’t because he only reveals his Part D premiums. Those don’t tell the whole story.
The problem is the Democrats have used Medicare like their piggy bank. Then to conceal their pilfering, Democrats are playing a shell game with Medicare by reducing some costs while hiding the increases that cover them.
Even worse, Medicare and Medicare Part D insurance plans are designed to be confusopolies. That’s the term for an industry, like health insurance, which has made it too confusing to compare the prices of competing companies. Their complexities make even insurance agents cry.
Under the Biden-Harris administration, the prices of food, gas, Medicare and so much more have skyrocketed. There’s no end in sight if Democrats win Congress and the White House because they’re proposing policies like the unrealized capital gains tax that are designed to take the homes, farms, and life savings of Americans in just a year or two.
To restore our prosperity, vote for Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks on Nov. 5. She is the best choice to protect the health and wealth of Iowans.
