Media’s articles show candidate preference

I want to congratulate Ann Poe on her win to the City Council at-large position.
I am very proud of my supporters and the way we campaigned. I feel the at-large candidates all ran a positive and aboveboard campaign.
I also feel the media in Cedar Rapids get a bad name for a good reason: It is easy to read their articles and know who they support. I guess that is as it should be but they need to be upfront about it and also need to check a lot of their facts before demeaning candidates' statements.
It is easy for the media to make statements and then have their corrections in little-read or listened-to areas. A a former candidate, I know how hard it is to have any rebuttal to the media.
Let's get behind our chosen city officials to make Cedar Rapids what we all know it should be. Those leaders have to remember about 17,000 voters, of the approximately 90,000 possible voters, who determined what issues are important to them and want continued. Hopefully the other 73,000 voters will let their needs and wants be known.
