Mayor, city council put time, effort into C.R.

Regarding Dave Draheim's May 7 letter attacking Mayor Ron Corbett and calling for his ouster from office. I haven't agreed with all of the City Council's decisions, but I have met the mayor and many members of the council (including past members Kay Halloran and Brian Fagan) who have attended some of our neighborhood meetings and I will say this: These are decent people like you and me with day jobs of their own, who ran for office and put in a lot of extra time because they believe in this city and want to shape its direction.
As far as your assertion that Corbett has “not advertised that no federal funds have been committed,” nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, he stated many times in his commercials and forums that we won't get any federal or state funds without a local match.
Attend a City Council meeting or invite a council member to attend one of your own meetings. This will give you a chance to state your concerns and solutions in person. These folks aren't superhuman career politicians. I think you'll be surprised at how approachable all of them are. Let's dispense with the nastiness.
Also, I'm assuming you don't follow golf much, since Zach Johnson is doing OK for himself on tour this year.
