Nick AbouAssaly, the mayor of the city of Marion, has brought a new level of professionalism and leadership to Marion's City Council and administration. For the past four years I have attended almost every Marion City Council meeting and work session and watched firsthand a transformation in city government operation with an increase in transparency, responsiveness, and strategic planning.
Nick, with the help of a dedicated City Council, has put the city on a path to an enhanced quality of life for all citizens by blending the future needs of a growing city with a concern for the financial impact on all residents and businesses. Great strides have been made in capital improvement planning, financial accountability and transparency, and efficiency and accountability in city administration. Council meetings are conducted professionally with increased opportunity for citizen input and agendas are developed to ensure transparency in official proceedings.
Nick's high ethical standards, four years of outstanding leadership, and what I would describe as a 'caring attitude” toward the city and its citizens, provide the perfect mayoral combination for the city. Re-elect Nick AbouAssaly as Mayor of the City of Marion - he will guide us artfully and thoughtfully through the next four years.
