Mathis voted against tax cuts for working families

Just last month, Gov. Kim Reynolds and the Iowa Legislature passed a historic bipartisan tax cut, no thanks to the Linn County state Sen. Liz Mathis. This new law will cut taxes for all Iowans to a flat tax rate of 3.9 percent, and even some Democrats in the state House and Senate voted for it. It will be the largest tax cut in the history of our state. But Mathis, a Democrat, still voted against cutting taxes for Iowa families.
At a time when gas, groceries, and other everyday goods are at their highest prices in decades and we had a budget surplus, I can't believe that a "leader" would vote against tax cuts. But this speaks volumes about Mathis's priorities- she wants to raise our taxes, grow the size of government, and create more red tape. If Mathis goes to Congress, she'll be a guaranteed rubber stamp for Nancy Pelosi, AOC, and the Squad, and her record proves it. I won't be voting for her in November.
