Mathis the leader we’ve longed for

We have waited patiently for the fighting to cease, but the major parties are polarized and despite a person's initial good intentions to bring needed assistance to his or her respective constituents, a political stalemate has rendered a once vibrant society stagnant.
Consequently, there has been little or no movement to aid the economy, joblessness, primary and secondary education, health care, behavior health, long-term care, family farm operations, small business owners and organized labor. Meanwhile, we in middle class America are decreasing in numbers by the thousands every day due to the ever-increasing burdens placed on the backs of our members. And here we sit in this socioeconomic sink hole and we wait.
If we as a state and a nation are to climb out of our current situation, we wait for a thoughtful, articulate guide; one who has a proven record of cooperating across party lines and always moving in the direction of resolution. We wait to follow someone who will put all of our needs ahead of her own and ahead of that person's party of choice. In short, we wait for a leader.
One such documented leader in our community is Liz Mathis. In the special election on Nov. 8 for State Senate District 18, I am voting for Mathis and I encourage all residents of the district to the same.
