Liz Mathis has served as Iowa senator since last November, when she won a special election to fill the seat of Swati Dandekar of Marion. She is up for re-election Nov. 6.
Mathis has served on the Legislature's Ways and Means, Economic Growth, Commerce and Human Services committees, ans as a member of the Economic Development Appropriations Subcommittee.
She is a very knowledgeable person, which helps her work toward her ideals and goals for Iowans.
A college professor at both University of Iowa and Wartburg College, she taught journalism and other subjects. She worked in broadcast for nearly 30 years. She later worked at Horizons, a Family Server Alliance, and then as chief information officer of Four Oaks, a child advocacy and juvenile justice organization. She serves on Wartburg College Board of Regents and also is a board member for Ohnward Bank in Marion.
She wants to create jobs in Iowa, lower taxes for small-business owners and promote growth on main street. She is well qualified to serve as our senator and has proved it with her hard work. Let's send her back.
