Mathis has been, will be an inspiration to others

About this time four years ago, Liz Mathis came to the University of Iowa School of Journalism to give a lecture to aspiring undergraduate students. Her advice? Always ask tough questions, treat everyone fairly and remember who you are working for - the public. Four years later, as a proud alumni from said school, I can tell her that her advice worked.
This is one of the reasons I support Liz Mathis for state Senate. Liz always has taken on the powers that be, whether it's Republican, Democrat or just plain corrupt. She will hold herself and others accountable, because that's the Mathis we have seen on TV and “we the public” expect.
Shortly after graduation, I had to leave the state because of a shortage of good jobs for young people. Liz has pledged to fight and invest in people like me, young Iowans, who were born and educated in the state but forced to leave because certain politicians in Des Moines care more about cutting education, teachers and universities, care more about two dudes getting married and changing our state constitution, than caring about creating good-paying jobs for my generation. I believe Mathis is on my side and that's why I plan on being on hers.
