Mathis absentee ballots are suspicious
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Nov. 16, 2011 11:54 am
I received an email verifying the death of Osama bin Laden and Muammar Gaddafi. Punch line: They both have registered to vote in Chicago.
Funny at first, but then as I read the election returns for Iowa Senate District 18, I noticed that Golding actually won
the election by the
people who physically showed up to vote:
51 percent Golding,
49 percent Mathis. Then we get down to the absentee vote and Mathis makes a remarkable comeback, 72 percent to Golding's 28 percent.
Now I wouldn't want to cry foul but if I were a campaign worker for Golding, my job would just be starting. I'd be out there seeing how many of those absentee votes are actually residing in Cedar Memorial or Chicago or have the name bin Laden or Gaddafi.
