Martin Luther King event brims with irony
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jan. 22, 2011 8:03 am
I found the Jan. 15 article, titled “MLK event honors soldiers' families,” to be amazingly ironic, though I don't believe the sponsors of the event intended it so.
The news item announced “an event for families of deployed military members in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.” While the event was certainly a worthy one, it is an ironic way to honor Martin Luther King Jr.
King's life was devoted to non-violent efforts to eliminate unjustified racial segregation in America, while our soldiers are committed to violence to eliminate unjustified violence against America.

Winslow center filled with earthly angels
I have been a resident of Winslow House Care Center for over three years. I love being here. I love the people who run it. Come see us sometime and judge for yourself. You will be surprised at the care that abides herein.
There are lots of earthly angels here.
