Marion council headed wrong way

Nick Glew's focus might be the problem. The focus of the past Marion mayor and Glew's council is that of their own. Marion residents spoke out clearly that they opposed Plan D (more than 1,000 signed petitions) of the Omaha-based City Redevelopment Co. Cheerleading the way was the Marion Chamber of Commerce, lead by Jill Ackerman as president. I have a hard time believing that Nick is listening to the residents of Marion. I feel it's time to get back to “Of the people, by the people, for the people” government.
That's why I'm urging you to vote for these candidates: Allen “Snooks” Bouska for mayor, Paul Draper, Dwight Hogan, and George Ulferts Jr. for City Council. I feel they will listen to the people they represent and do what's best for Marion.
My hat goes off to former council member Mary Lou Pazour, who wrote an editorial apology to the people of Marion in the Oct. 27 issue of the Marion Times. Quoted in the article was: “Were I still on the City Council I would be voting a resounding NO” regarding the above redevelopment plan.”
