Many reasons not to vote for Grassley
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Sen. Chuck Grassley's new TV campaign ad portrays the senator as a man of the people. But is that the case?
Grassley recently voted against many policies that would benefit middle-class Iowans. Grassley advocated for insurance companies in trying to stop health care reform, and now he is trying to take credit for it. He voted no to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, no to the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009, and no to the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009. He also voted for every Bush tax cut for the wealthy.
Then, just last month, he supported suppression of debate of financial reform on the floor of the Senate and then voted against the breakup of the biggest banks.
Why should we vote for Grassley again?
