To the editor:
As a co-director of the play, 'Forgotten Tags,” performed during the recent Johnson County Area Juneteenth Celebration, Matt Falduto, the entire cast and I would sincerely like to thank the Zion Lutheran Church and staff for graciously allowing us to use its facilities for our rehearsals this year. It was wonderful to have a space to come to each night during that period.
The Juneteenth Planning Committee would like to thank our event's emcee, Victoria Olango Opako, for sharing her talents in leading our guests in celebrating 150 years festivities that day. We also want to acknowledge Pastor Kim Abram-Bryant and Pastor Shawn Ringer who participated in the Remembrance of the Mother Emmanuel nine church members in Charleston, S.C.
The event's planning committee hopes you'll join us next year on June 24-25 for the 6th annual Juneteenth celebration.
