Many helped with Old Prague Christmas event

The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library thanks Eastern Iowans for supporting the inaugural Old Prague Christmas Market on Dec. 3-4.
Many people came to Sixteenth Avenue SW to enjoy hot food and beverages, horse-drawn wagon rides, fire juggling, outdoor shopping, the Museum Guild cookie walk and more.
We sincerely appreciate the support of the sponsor, GreatAmerica Leasing, and the many organizations that assisted in decorating the avenue, setting up street and vendor booths, providing food and beverages to shoppers and promoting the event.
Old Prague Christmas Market helps to bring tourism to the area and to bring families to a historic portion of Cedar Rapids. Visitors came from as far away as California.
This event required many hours of preparation, and we are deeply thankful for the support of the Museum Guild, Czech Village Heritage Foundation, Cedar Rapids Junior League, Czech Village/New Bohemia Main Street, city of Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation and Forestry Department, New Bohemia Group, the Cherry Building, Coe College, Cedar Rapids Convention & Visitors Bureau, the staff of the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library, and to George Joens and Alex Anderson.
We look forward to seeing you next year!
