Make sure leaders hear from you on Macbride
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Fishermen alert: Great news! Iowa HF 230, which allows motors of 10 horsepower or more with no-wake speed on Lake Macbride, has made it out of committee in the House. But now the critical work begins. We must make sure our state senators and representatives hear from us so they know this is important to their constituents. We need to flood their mailboxes.
Two key people especially need to hear from you: House Leader Linda Upmeyer (linda.
upmeyer@legis.state.ia.us) and Senate Leader Mike Gronstal (mike.gronstal@legis.state.ia.us).
Be sure to stress the fairness issue; every resident of the state has paid to build the lake and we continue to fund the maintenance. This is the only lake in Iowa that does not allow all of us to use (except for the off-season, mostly winter).
