Make Juneteenth a national holiday

Americans have recognized July Fourth as a national day of celebration of our independence for over 240 years. This, however, is not true for all Americans and it is time we recognized this truth. Juneteenth should also be recognized as a national day of celebration; a day when the people who played such a big part in building this nation were finally freed. Doing so would be a small gesture that could go a long way toward building a more inclusive cultural identity in America.
