Low cost birth control is necessary
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Feb. 17, 2011 11:04 am
To reduce the budget, the governor and some in the Legislature want to cut programs that provide birth control to women in desperate financial need. The only way this will save the state money is if they also ignore the resulting babies born into poverty.
I support using my taxes to pay the relatively low cost of birth control to avert unintended pregnancies. It's better for families and the state budget.
