To the editor:
I am supporting Lori Roetlin for Iowa City Community School District school board. As a teacher at Coralville Central Elementary School, I saw firsthand her dedication to the school district as a volunteer in all aspects at the school - from special school wide events, to assisting in classrooms. She also served on the PTO as coordinator for the foreign language program.
She has many of the qualities that make a good school board member. She is a good listener and excellent at working with other people. She is measured and approaches things in a calm way, collaborating with others to reach a solution to a problem. I found her to be very organized and always willing to put in the time when it came to understanding important issues.
She is not a one-issue candidate; she is interested in advocating for all students in the district. That's why I think she should be elected to the school board.
