'Looking forward' to vote on marriage
The Gazette Opinion Staff

I am looking forward to voting on marriage. Not only can we outlaw same-sex marriage, but we might be able to outlaw straight marriage, too. We'll save a lot of money on flowers, toasters, and ugly bridesmaid's dresses. We can balance the budget! While circumventing the Iowa Constitution by popular vote, I hope to get some other issues on the ballot. We can target a small group of people we don't like and catch a few more with friendly fire. For example, we can vote to make it illegal to be a Fundamentalist Christian. There aren't enough of them to vote themselves in, so it should be pretty easy.
We can vote to exile Mr. Bob Vander Plaats from the state. (Is anyone else wondering why the focus was on the three judges instead of the constitutional convention? Like the other ideas concocted by the Tea people, they would be genius if actually intelligent).
I don't when this vote will happen, but I'm pretty excited already. I have many more ideas and a lot of free time.
