Long-term tax should be 5 years

What is the love affair with the long-term sales tax? Many of us simply do not trust the City Council. Why did they not offer a five-year tax stream? Let us examine how well they've done with the money for five years and then renew it for five years if we find them to be trustworthy. No, they insist it must be a 10-year revenue stream. Our streets need help, but to trust this group with a 10-year money stream is unwise.
Bever Avenue S.E. has been torn up most of the summer and into autumn. They finally put back the street and the infrastructure so the main entrance to Bever Park would be accessible. However, at the intersection of Bever Avenue and Memorial Drive, they narrowed Bever Avenue. For no obvious reason, they have made it dangerous and nearly impossible for large vehicles to negotiate that corner. How many more such blunders will they produce if we give them a 10-year tax stream?
Also, not everyone who drives our streets stops to purchase something. It is false to imply they do.
