Loebsack unlikely to change his spots
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Oct. 29, 2010 3:36 pm
I take issue with your Oct. 19 editorial endorsing Dave Loebsack over Mariannette Miller-Meeks for Congress.
The majority of Loebsack's congressional votes followed the mandates of Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the progressive liberal agenda. Now we face massive debt, unemployment, a weakened economy and our retirement savings valued at Third World currency rates.
If Loebsack had truly been interested in his constituents' welfare, he would have allotted more “face time” with voters at town hall meetings this year.
I submit to the debit column of his accounting ledger, all the reasons you noted for concern, as proof for his removal.
After all, can we afford and trust Mr. Loebsack to change his spots, after the past four years of recorded far-left progressive liberalism? Or do we give the challenger, Miller-Meeks, the chance to watch and control government waste and spending, use her military, medical and business experience, and ride the wave of government change this election?
I have more faith that we'll see your admonishments come true with Miller-Meeks than waiting for the spots to change on Loebsack.
