Loebsack has earned re-election to Congress
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Mar. 17, 2010 1:09 pm
Congressman Dave Loebsack cares about the children of Iowa. His message is clearly one of an advocate for the fair and caring treatment of the children.
I have taught in Cedar Rapids schools for 25 years, and I have a place in my heart and mind for legislation that ensures a quality life for all of us. Loebsack will be supporting health care reforms that affect families, including insurance reform, changes in the Medicare system and affordable health insurance for those who choose.
Loebsack has voted in favor of funding for programs that will enroll 6 million uninsured children who are not eligible under existing plans. He has supported maintenance of Medicaid (Title 19) benefits for our youngest Iowans. Loebsack co-sponsored a plan for a childhood cancer database which would make research and direct services possible. We owe it to our children to keep them safe and healthy.
Please vote for the re-election of Loebsack in November.
