Loebsack fighting for American jobs
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Oct. 15, 2010 12:46 pm
We need to turn back the tide of American jobs going overseas and end our large trade deficits with emerging countries. Fortunately, for Iowans, Rep. Dave Loebsack understands this and has been serious about this issue. His opponent, however, does not get it.
Mariannette Miller-Meeks is seeking to go back to the failed policies of President George W. Bush that cut taxes for companies that exported hundreds of thousands of jobs overseas and hoard billions of dollars in offshore accounts while placing America's fiscal security at risk by ballooning our trade deficit. Rather, Loebsack has fought and will continue to fight to end this damaging policy by pushing legislation that forces China to end its obvious currency manipulation, has voted to close any possible tax incentive for job exportation and is a leader in Congress working to reinvigorate America's manufacturing sector.
On Nov. 2 Iowans have a clear choice for our 2nd District representative. I am proud to know Loebsack is representing my family and is vigorously working to restore fiscal sanity to our trade deficit and bring good American jobs back to Iowa.
