The Air Force is currently reviewing bids to replace its aerial refueling tankers. Bids have been submitted by both the American company Boeing and the French company EADS.
I am proud that Dave Loebsack understands Iowa and the importance of keeping jobs in America. He has voiced his support for the Boeing-Rockwell Collins bid and has worked since he has been elected to support Iowa workers and Iowa jobs.
In Iowa alone, Boeing's tanker would support an estimated 800 jobs. Rockwell Collins' workforce would make critical contributions to the fleet and American workers would be building an American-made tanker, the NewGen tanker.
Dave has had children serving - he knows the importance and the need to make sure that our troops have the best equipment and training. He also knows that Iowa workers are some of the best in the country - why shouldn't Iowa workers be the ones making the equipment that will help our soldiers complete their missions safely and effectively?
He also understands that this bid is about making things in America again - not overseas.
Dave's bipartisan SECTORS bill, which has passed in the House of Representatives, would help strengthen American manufacturing and American industry. Dave knows that supporting the manufacturing industry means keeping jobs here, rather than outsourcing critical national security technology and jobs in growing industries for foreign countries.
Dave Loebsack is the best choice for Iowa workers.
