Location of traffic cameras should not be revealed
The Gazette Opinion Staff

The fact that all drivers are treated equal is what I like most about traffic cameras. Speeders and red light runners, including Republican state senators and their sons, still have the privilege of disobeying traffic laws. It just costs them a little more money.
Some state senators, when proposing laws for their subjects such as banning traffic cameras, have many things to consider. One consideration being how this new law will affect the economy and job creation. If traffic cameras are banned, big oil companies will gain revenue and jobs, the insurance companies will gain increased revenue from selling high-risk policies, casket manufacturers' business will increase, body shops will gain business, and the list goes on.
I say keep the existing law and camera enforcement and let the big corporations stimulate the economy and create jobs in other ways. The number of cameras should be increased and their location not revealed and do away with the 12 mph over the allowance or raise the speed limit equally for everyone.
