Local politicians cannot be trusted

I love it! Once again local politicians prove to the citizens of Cedar Rapids that they say one thing but mean another. Local city government told the federal government that they needed FEMA money to fix the hydroelectric plant because of the flooding in 2008. They fought long and hard for this money. Well, they got it, so are they going to fix the plant? No, they are going to use this money for something else.
Just remember this come November when they ask us to vote for the extension of the local-option sales tax for an additional 10 years. They tell us they will use all moneys for road repair and replacement, but can you take them at their word? History seems to prove otherwise.
I don't trust them and I'm voting no.
