Lives, even our own, not ours to take

How could any law be argued to allow a brain-dead mother to be buried when she holds a living baby within her? If she had been shot and she and her baby died, the murderer would be charged with two counts of murder and rightly so.

Our nation has been telling our young men and women that abortion is OK but also telling them that the shooting of children at school is tragic. How can anyone process that logically? Why do residents of states, such as Oregon, allow self-induced suicide if a person has two doctors say the person has less than six months to live, but then be upset by murders in a Colorado theater?

Lives are not ours to end. Not even our own. We must value every human life as if that person is the most loved and treasured person in our life. The cost, suffering and pain endured to enable this way of thinking may be unmeasurable; however, the cost of the devaluing of life is more costly to our soul as a nation.
