On May 25, the Linn-Mar High School Choir joined Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) for a special Memorial Day weekend concert at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall in New York City.
'Celebration and Reflection” featured classic and contemporary choral works: Mozart's Coronation Mass, conducted by Aimee Beckman-Collier, and the world premiere of Bradley Ellingboe's Star Song, which was conducted by the composer.
The Linn-Mar High School Choir joined outstanding choruses selected from seven states across the country to form the Distinguished Concerts Singers International.
New York Concert Review praised the performance of the Mozart mass, calling it a 'truly a winning performance on all accounts.”
The performance of the 12-movement Star Song had the reviewer offering: 'Congratulations to the chorus members who gave their all as well in a committed performance. The large audience responded to Star Song with a heartfelt ovation.”
Linn-Mar High School made a remarkable contribution to what was an unforgettable concert at one of New York City's legendary cultural landmarks.
DCINY would like to congratulate everyone in the Linn-Mar High School Choir on their achievement and we look forward to future DCINY Concert Series collaborations.
